We’re so honored to share that we were recently featured in The Daily Herald following our Kitten Yoga donation class with the Everett Animal Shelter. The article, “Downward cat? At kitten yoga in Everett, it’s all paw-sitive vibes,” captured the heart of an afternoon that was playful, grounding, and deeply meaningful. Together with the shelter, we hosted a 90-minute experience that included a beginner-friendly yoga practice followed by time to connect with adoptable kittens, many of whom wandered freely through the room, curled up on mats, and reminded everyone not to take themselves too seriously.
What stood out most in the piece was how the experience supported both nervous systems and animal welfare. Yoga is known for reducing stress and inviting presence, and when paired with gentle animal interaction, something extra special happens. Laughter came easily, and the space felt lighter as the practice unfolded. In at least a few cases, hearts opened enough for kittens to find their forever homes — including one adopted by the reporter herself.
This event reflects something we deeply value at Mahad Yoga: practice that is accessible, community-rooted, and in service to something bigger than ourselves.
We’re incredibly grateful to:
- The Everett Animal Shelter and their devoted staff and volunteers
- Everyone who attended, practiced, laughed, and cuddled
- The Daily Herald for telling this story with care and humanity
